Taran Prakash Sinha checks employment, water conservation and infrastructure projects, records workers’ attendance through NMMS app and calls for timely wage payments
TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 26,2026: Commissioner of the Viksit Bharat-G Ram Ji (VB-G Ram Ji) scheme and Director of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) Taran Prakash Sinha inspected rural development works in several gram panchayats of Bemetara district on Sunday, directing officials to expand employment opportunities, maintain construction quality and complete sanctioned projects within deadlines.
During the visit, Sinha reviewed activities related to water conservation, rural infrastructure, plantation and livelihood generation. He instructed officials to provide employment in line with the needs of rural households and ensure transparency and timely wage payments.
Focus on employment and water conservation
Sinha inspected riverbank water conservation and trench construction works being undertaken under the Dhar-Apar campaign. He interacted with 138 workers at the site and explained the scheme’s provisions and procedures for receiving wages on time.
He also personally recorded workers’ attendance through the National Mobile Monitoring System (NMMS) app, emphasising transparency and accountability in the implementation of rural employment works.
Infrastructure and plantation projects reviewed
At Gram Panchayat Tala, Sinha inspected an Anganwadi building under construction, while at Charbhatha he reviewed the construction of school toilets. He directed officials to complete both projects on priority while maintaining prescribed quality standards.
During a community meeting at Babamohatra, he interacted with villagers, self-help group members and workers to discuss employment generation and livelihood activities suited to local needs. He encouraged greater community participation in creating durable and useful rural assets.
Sinha also inspected a 26-acre fruit-bearing plantation at Gram Panchayat Jevra (N) and appreciated the panchayat’s efforts. He said such plantations could support environmental conservation while creating future livelihood opportunities for local communities.
Groundwater monitoring through Jaldoot app
At Gram Panchayat Kathiya, Sinha initiated post-monsoon groundwater-level measurement using the Jaldoot app. He personally measured the water level in a well and uploaded the reading to the application.
The exercise is intended to help assess post-monsoon groundwater availability and support the preparation of water conservation plans.
Officials told to ensure timely completion
Following the field inspections, Sinha chaired a review meeting at the Bemetara Circuit House with officials from the Zila Panchayat and all Janpad Panchayats in the district.
He stressed the need to bring more rural families under the scheme, generate employment according to local demand, ensure timely wage payments and regularly monitor ongoing construction projects. He also called for strict attention to quality, transparency and timely completion of all sanctioned works.
Zila Panchayat CEO Premlata Padmakar, members of the state-level team, the Rural Engineering Service executive engineer, assistant project officers, Janpad Panchayat CEOs, sub-divisional officers, programme officers and other departmental officials attended the inspections and review meeting.
