TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 26, 2025: In a significant move to accelerate governance and enhance transparency, the Chhattisgarh government, led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, has brought 13 crucial services under the ambit of the Public Service Guarantee Act. The reform aims to ensure timely delivery of government services to citizens and businesses, reinforcing the state’s commitment to efficiency and ease of doing business.
The services now covered include environmental clearances, industrial licensing, measurement certification, town planning approvals, and water resources permissions. These services span major departments such as the Chhattisgarh Environment Protection Board (CEPB), Commerce and Industry, Legal Metrology, Town and Country Investment, and Water Resources.
Under the new system, strict timelines have been prescribed for the delivery of these services. Departments will be held accountable if services are not provided within the stipulated period, with clear provisions for fixing responsibility on the concerned officials. The move is expected to not only expedite processes but also build greater trust among citizens and investors.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized the government’s goal of ensuring that every citizen and entrepreneur in Chhattisgarh receives prompt and transparent services. “Bringing 13 vital services under the Public Service Guarantee Act is a major step toward fostering trust, promoting accountability, and giving a fresh impetus to investment and development in the state,” he said.
Relief for Businesses, Boost for Small Enterprises
Previously, delays in obtaining approvals posed significant challenges for businesses and citizens. Under the new reform, applications will be processed within a fixed time frame, preventing bottlenecks and promoting administrative efficiency.
Expressing his satisfaction, Raipur-based young entrepreneur Mr. Nanhu Agarwal stated, “Earlier, we had to wait for months for approvals. Now, with fixed timelines, our business operations will speed up. This is a major relief for the business community.”
Officials believe the move will particularly benefit small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which often depend heavily on timely approvals to sustain and grow their operations.
Towards a More Digitized and Efficient Chhattisgarh
This latest reform marks another milestone in Chhattisgarh’s journey towards digitalization and administrative modernization. The state government also plans to expand the scope of the Public Service Guarantee Act by including more services in the future, aiming to spur development across sectors.
With this initiative, Chhattisgarh is poised to strengthen its role in the building of a “New India,” driving faster, fairer, and more investor-friendly governance.
