PM Modi Unveils ₹41,000-Crore Agricultural Push for Farmers

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 11,2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched two landmark agricultural schemes worth over ₹41,000 crore to strengthen India’s farming sector and boost self-reliance in food production. The Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana, with an outlay of ₹30,000 crore, and the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission, worth ₹11,000 crore, were inaugurated at a national event held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.

During the launch, the Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for more than 1,100 projects across agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and food processing under the Agriculture and Infrastructure Fund. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai joined the event virtually from Raipur’s Krishak Sabhagar, where thousands of farmers participated online.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi said that on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Jayaprakash Narayan and Nanaji Deshmukh, India is scripting a new chapter of agricultural self-reliance. He said the new schemes will empower farmers, modernize agriculture, and make farming more profitable. The Pulses Self-Reliance Mission alone, he added, will directly benefit around two crore pulse-growing farmers, helping the nation bridge its gap in domestic pulse production and ensure nutritional security.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana will focus on 100 agriculturally backward districts through special action plans designed to raise productivity, improve rural infrastructure, and enhance farmers’ income. He emphasized that the participation of young farmers will play a crucial role in transforming India’s agricultural landscape.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for including Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur, Korba, and Dantewada districts under the new schemes. Calling it a proud moment for the state’s farmers, Sai said these initiatives will bring about a “revolution in agriculture and ensure economic prosperity for rural families.”

Addressing farmers in Raipur, the Chief Minister said the government is fulfilling every promise made to the farming community. He noted that paddy is being procured at ₹3,100 per quintal and that long-pending bonus payments have been cleared. The state government, he added, has also sanctioned ₹2,800 crore to repair more than 1,500 irrigation projects, ensuring better water availability for farmers.

Recalling his recent visit to agricultural stalls, the Chief Minister shared how reforms under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi have directly benefited farmers. He said savings of ₹40,000–₹60,000 per tractor and up to ₹1 lakh on harvesters were reported by farmers after the GST rationalization. “Such benefits are the true reflection of good governance,” he remarked.

Chief Minister Sai also distributed keys to tractors and agricultural equipment under the Agricultural Engineering Sub-Mission and handed over grant cheques to beneficiary farmers at the event.

Senior officials and dignitaries, including Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam, State Seed Corporation Chairman Chandrahas Chandrakar, Fishermen Welfare Board Chairman Bharat Matiara, and Gau Seva Commission Chairman Visheshwar Singh Patel, were present. Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, Agriculture Director Rahul Dev, Horticulture Director Ajay Agarwal, Fisheries Director S. Jagadeeshan Rao, and several farmers and public representatives also attended.

With these new central initiatives, both the Union and State Governments aim to make agriculture more resilient, self-reliant, and aligned with the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” — a developed India driven by empowered farmers.
