Suryakiran Aerobatic Show to Light Up Naya Raipur Skies on November 5

TFP Bureau,Raipur, October 22, 2025: The Indian Air Force’s famed Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) is set to dazzle the skies of Naya Raipur on November 5, marking a spectacular highlight in Chhattisgarh’s silver jubilee celebrations. Known for their precision flying and dramatic maneuvers, the nine-aircraft formation team will showcase India’s aerial excellence in a breathtaking display of discipline, skill, and national pride.

The event—jointly organized by the State Government and the Indian Air Force—will transform the skies above Naya Raipur into a canvas of patriotism as the Suryakiran pilots perform their iconic formations such as ‘Bomb Burst’, ‘Heart in the Sky’, and ‘Arrowhead’. With roaring jet engines and smoke trails forming mesmerizing patterns, the aerial display will symbolize the confidence, progress, and unity of a vibrant and self-reliant India.

Thousands of citizens, students, and families from across Chhattisgarh are expected to gather to witness the show, which promises to be both a thrilling spectacle and a proud celebration of India’s defense prowess. The performance will not only highlight the extraordinary teamwork and precision of the Indian Air Force but also inspire young minds to pursue careers in national service.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed pride over Chhattisgarh hosting the show, calling it a “historic moment of national celebration.”

“It is a matter of immense pride for Chhattisgarh that the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Aerobatic Team will be part of our Silver Jubilee celebrations. This event represents our state’s journey of growth, confidence, and national pride. The performance will ignite patriotism among our youth and inspire them toward national service,” said the Chief Minister.

A Proud Legacy of Aerial Mastery

Formed in 1996, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team has been a shining symbol of India’s courage, technical brilliance, and aviation excellence. The only nine-aircraft formation team in Asia, SKAT performs with a precision that allows as little as five meters of space between wings during flight. Their performances embody the values of discipline, courage, and teamwork that define India’s armed forces.

Over the past 29 years, the team has completed more than 700 air displays across India and abroad, including performances in Sri Lanka, the UAE, Singapore, the UK, and Thailand. Their participation in prestigious international events such as the Singapore Air Show, Dubai Air Show, and Royal Thai Air Force’s 88th anniversary has brought global acclaim to India’s air power and strengthened the nation’s defense diplomacy.

A Symbol of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in the Skies

The Suryakiran team began its journey with the HJT-16 Kiran Mk-II aircraft and, in 2015, transitioned to the indigenously developed HAL Hawk Mk-132 Advanced Jet Trainer, a testament to India’s growing self-reliance in defense manufacturing. The use of Indian-built aircraft underscores the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), reflecting the nation’s confidence in homegrown technology and innovation.

Blending National Pride with Culture and Sports

The team’s performances have become a unique blend of culture, sportsmanship, and national glory. In 2023, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team captivated millions with a spectacular air display over the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during the Cricket World Cup—an unforgettable moment that united sporting celebration with patriotic fervor.

As the jets soar over Naya Raipur this November, the event will not just be an air show—it will be a soaring salute to India’s defense forces, Chhattisgarh’s 25-year journey of progress, and the spirit of a confident, resurgent nation.

When the skies over the capital city roar with the synchronized flight of the Suryakirans, every twist, turn, and formation will remind spectators of one message—India’s pride, precision, and power are truly limitless.
