TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 16, 2026: In a major effort to give Chhattisgarh’s rich literary and cultural heritage a stronger national platform, preparations are underway for the ‘Raipur Sahitya Utsav –2026’, scheduled to be held from January 23 to 25, 2026 at Purkhouti Muktangan in Nava Raipur.
To review the arrangements, Collector Dr Gaurav Singh and Public Relations Commissioner Dr Ravi Mittal on Friday inspected the venue and reviewed the progress of preparations. During the inspection, officials were directed to complete all arrangements in a timely and well-organized manner, including stalls, the main stage, venues for literary sessions, the food zone, drinking water facilities, parking, security and audience amenities.

*‘Aadi se Anaadi Tak’: Celebrating the Living Tradition of Indian Literature
The central theme of the festival is ‘Aadi se Anaadi Tak’, highlighting the continuous, vibrant and evolving tradition of Indian literature. Collector Dr Gaurav Singh said the Raipur Literature Festival is a celebration of the confluence of literature, thought and culture. He directed officials to ensure high-quality arrangements so that visitors have a smooth, safe and memorable experience. He added that the festival will ensure wide participation of children, youth, teachers, writers and general readers. Connecting the younger generation with literature, ideas and culture remains one of the key objectives of the festival, he added.
*Nava Raipur to Become a Hub of Literature, Thought and Art
For three days, Purkhouti Muktangan will host literary conversations, book releases, thought forums, cultural performances and art exhibitions. The event is being seen as an important step towards strengthening Chhattisgarh’s presence on the national literary map.
*Renowned Writers, Thinkers and Creators from Across India to Participate
The Raipur Sahitya Utsav –2026 will bring together prominent literary figures, poets, authors, journalists, thinkers and young writers from different parts of the country. Along with literary sessions, the festival will feature open conversations, discussions on contemporary themes and creative presentations.
*A Strong Platform for Youth and Children
A key feature of the festival is its special focus on the younger generation. Books based on self-written poems, stories and other creative works by school children from Raipur district will be released during the event. Open-mic platforms will also be available for children and youth to showcase their creative expression. Youth participation has generated strong enthusiasm, with over 4,000 registrations already completed, and the registration process continues.
*Grand Book Fair and Writer-Reader Interaction
A grand book fair with around 40 stalls will be organized during the festival, featuring books from leading publishers across the country, available for display and sale. The platform will also encourage direct interaction between writers and readers.
*‘Chanakya’ Play and Cultural Performances to be Key Attractions
A special staging of the play ‘Chanakya’ will be featured at the festival, showcasing Indian intellectual traditions and theatrical excellence. In addition, folk dances, folk songs and Chhattisgarhi cultural performances will introduce audiences to the vibrant folk culture of the state.
*Kavi Sammelan and Dialogue Sessions
A Kavi Sammelan will be organized in the presence of renowned poets, offering audiences a rich literary experience through powerful compositions. Open dialogue sessions will also be held with journalists, thinkers and social workers, focusing on meaningful discussions on contemporary socio-cultural issues.
During the inspection, officials and members of the organizing committee shared suggestions to make the festival well-managed, impactful and memorable.
The event is emerging as a strong initiative to connect Chhattisgarh’s literary consciousness, intellectual tradition and cultural spirit with national dialogue Raipur Sahitya Utsav –2026 is expected to serve as a bridge between writers and readers, while also sensitizing the younger generation towards literature, culture and ideas. With a mix of literary engagement, creative expression and cultural diversity, the three-day festival is being seen as an important chapter in positioning Nava Raipur among the country’s leading literary centers.
