TFP Bureau, Korba, April 2, 2026: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) has developed a ‘Forest Walkway’ inside its township at Balconagar, creating a new space for residents to connect with nature while promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The walkway was inaugurated by the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Director, Rajesh Kumar, in the presence of senior officials, employees and representatives of business partners.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Manisha Kumar, President of the BALCO Ladies Club, along with several senior officials and members of the township community.
Spread across a stretch of about 785 metres, the Forest Walkway has been carefully designed to provide visitors with a refreshing experience amid greenery. Various species of trees have been planted along both sides of the pathway, enhancing the natural landscape and creating a calm and pollution-free environment. The shade of these trees and the surrounding greenery offer a peaceful setting for morning and evening walks.
BALCO officials said the walkway has been conceptualised not merely as a physical path but as a symbol of a lifestyle that values nature, wellness and sustainability. The initiative is expected to inspire residents of the township to spend more time outdoors, adopt healthy habits and develop a deeper appreciation for the environment.
The Forest Walkway is also being seen as an important addition to the ongoing beautification and infrastructure improvement works in BALCO Township. The project reflects the company’s broader efforts to enhance the quality of life of employees and residents by creating more recreational and eco-friendly spaces.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO and Director Rajesh Kumar said the project reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable living and community well-being. He said that time spent close to nature plays an important role in improving both physical health and mental well-being, while also strengthening environmental awareness among people.
