Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal highlights role of Sainik Schools in nurturing discipline, dedication and spirit of national service
TFP Bureau, Ambikapur, September 1, 2026: Sainik School Ambikapur celebrated its 18th Foundation Day with enthusiasm and dignity, showcasing the institution’s 18-year journey, achievements and the talents of its cadets.
Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal attended the ceremony as the chief guest. Inspector General of Police, Surguja Range, Deepak Kumar Jha, Collector Ajit Vasant, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, senior administrative officials and prominent citizens were also present.
The celebrations began with a Guard of Honour for the visiting dignitaries, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a cake-cutting ceremony marking the school’s 18th anniversary.
Annual Report Highlights Achievements
School Principal Colonel Rajesh Bainda presented the annual report for the 2025-26 academic session, outlining the institution’s achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. He also highlighted the accomplishments of cadets in various fields.
Cadets presented a series of cultural programmes, including a welcome song, a folk dance depicting Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage, a mime performance, a patriotic group song and a presentation based on the life and ideals of Lord Shri Ram.
Minister Agrawal also released the school magazine for the 2025-26 academic session. The guests viewed a Sanskrit learning application developed by the cadets under the guidance of Sanskrit teacher Saurabh Kumar Jain and appreciated the initiative.
Outstanding Cadets and Houses Felicitated
Cadets who excelled in academics, sports and co-curricular activities during the 2025-26 session were felicitated during the ceremony. Houses demonstrating outstanding performance were also presented with trophies.
Katari House and Arihant House were recognised as the Best Co-curricular Houses and were also felicitated for their performance in sports. Arjun Singh House and Tejas House received the Best Academic House trophy.
School officials, teachers, staff and other employees were also honoured for their dedication, commitment and contribution to the development of the institution.
Minister Calls for Discipline and Dedication
Addressing the cadets, Minister Rajesh Agrawal congratulated Sainik School Ambikapur on its achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. He urged students to make discipline an integral part of their lives and pursue their goals with determination, hard work and dedication.
Agrawal said Sainik Schools play an important role in developing discipline, commitment and a spirit of service to the nation among students. He encouraged the cadets to imbibe these values and grow into responsible and proud citizens of the country.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice-Principal Lt Col Dr P. Srinivas, followed by the National Anthem.
