TFP Bureau, Korba; June 22, 2024: Bharat Aluminum Company Limited (BALCO), part of the Vedanta Group, marked World Yoga Day by organizing multiple yoga camps across various locations. About 700 participants, including BALCO employees, their families, business partners, and local residents, joined the events coordinated by the company’s Community Development Department.
The initiative saw enthusiastic youth participation through yoga camps at Vedanta Skill Schools in Kawardha, Mainpat, and BALCO. Additionally, yoga sessions were held in 21 Nand Ghars, aiming to instill a foundational understanding of yoga among young children, supported by the Anil Agarwal Foundation. Teenage boys and girls actively took part in the camps under the Arogya Project, which promotes community health, and the Nayi Kiran Project, focusing on menstrual health awareness.
BALCO Chief Executive Officer and Director Rajesh Kumar extended his best wishes for health and prosperity to all participants. He emphasized the global recognition of India’s ancient yoga practices, noting that yoga serves as a tool for physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Kumar praised the annual yoga camp organized by BALCO in collaboration with various social organizations in BALCO Nagar as a commendable effort.
Yoga expert Preeti Mandal, lauded the enthusiasm of the participants, describing the 10th International Yoga Day celebration at BALCO as a memorable experience. She highlighted the positive impact of consistent yoga practice on both mind and body.
During the sessions, yoga experts guided participants through various asanas including Surya Namaskar, Makrasana, Kapalabhati, Anulom Vilom, Tadasana, Setu Bandha, Skandha Chakra, Shavasana, Pranayama, Meditation, Sankalp, and Shanti Path. Attendees committed to incorporating regular yoga practice into their daily routines.
