Chhattisgarh Patwaris’ Indefinite Strike Disrupts Revenue Services

Association seeks resolution of salary anomalies, promotion issues and digital crop survey challenges; warns of intensified agitation

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 18,2026: The indefinite strike by the Chhattisgarh Revenue Patwari Association continued across the state on Sunday, disrupting revenue-related services in several districts. Patwaris have been on strike since October 13, staging sit-in protests to press for the resolution of long-pending demands concerning salary discrepancies, promotions and difficulties faced during the digital crop survey.

The statewide agitation has affected the functioning of the Revenue Department, raising concerns over delays in public services and routine administrative work.

The association’s key demands include rectification of salary anomalies, better promotion opportunities and measures to address operational difficulties encountered during the digital crop survey. Members have expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of concrete decisions on these issues.

Talks fail to break deadlock

A meeting between association representatives and the Director of Land Records failed to produce a consensus, leaving the impasse unresolved. The absence of an agreement has further dampened hopes of an early end to the strike.

Reports of suggestions that the protesting employees should either resume their duties or resign have also added to the frustration among association members.

Association warns of intensified agitation

The association has warned that the agitation could be intensified if the government fails to take positive steps towards resolving its demands. Patwaris across the state continue to participate in the strike, maintaining pressure on the authorities for a settlement.

With the protest showing no immediate signs of ending, revenue-related work remains affected, potentially causing inconvenience to residents seeking essential services and completion of land and other revenue-related formalities.
