TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 12, 2026: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday laid the foundation stone and inaugurated a total of 103 development projects worth ₹233 crore at the Gundardehi Nagar Panchayat headquarters in Balod district, marking a major push towards infrastructure-led growth and employment generation in the region.
Of the total projects, foundation stones were laid for 61 works costing ₹163.88 crore, while 42 completed projects worth ₹69.82 crore were formally inaugurated. The Chief Minister also announced ₹1 crore for the construction of a fully equipped community hall in Gundardehi and an additional ₹1 crore for development works in each ward of the town.
Addressing a large public gathering, Shri Sai said that the projects launched were not merely structures of concrete but gateways to new opportunities for the people, especially the youth. He said the commercial complex being constructed at a cost of ₹1 crore would create avenues for self-employment and small businesses, while improved roads, bridges and civic infrastructure would ease transportation and accelerate local economic activity.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, both the Centre and the state government are working with a commitment to inclusive development. He highlighted key welfare initiatives, including the Mahtari Vandan Yojana for women’s financial support, enhanced minimum support prices for tendu leaf collectors, and the revival of the Charan Paduka Yojana to provide relief to tribal labourers. Efforts to promote value addition in forest produce, he said, are also generating local employment.
Shri Sai noted that initiatives such as the Ramlala Darshan Yojana are connecting citizens with the nation’s cultural and spiritual heritage, while effective rehabilitation policies have helped restore peace in Naxal-affected areas. As a result, he said, Bastar and other interior regions are witnessing rapid expansion of basic facilities such as roads, healthcare, education and communication networks.
Referring to National Youth Day, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Chief Minister said the great thinker’s ideals continue to inspire young people towards self-confidence, national service and self-reliance. He also noted that as Chhattisgarh marks its silver jubilee year, the Digital Tribal Museum being built in Raipur stands as a special gift from Prime Minister Modi, preserving the legacy of tribal heroes and their contributions.
Member of Parliament Shri Bhojraj Nag, addressing the programme, said that Chhattisgarh is rapidly scaling new heights of development under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. He said regions once affected by Naxalite violence are now moving steadily towards peace, progress and prosperity, directly benefiting the common people.
During the event, local traders felicitated the Chief Minister by weighing him with traditional ladoos. He also distributed materials and certificates to beneficiaries of various government schemes. District Collector Ms. Divya Umesh Mishra presented a progress report of Balod district, while Nagar Panchayat President Shri Pramod Jain delivered the welcome address and outlined the development needs of Gundardehi.
