WAVES Bazaar Unveils Its Inaugural ‘Top Selects’ Lineup Featuring 15 Projects in 9 Languages

TFP Bureau, Mumbai, April 25, 2025: The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has announced the debut of the WAVES Bazaar’s highly anticipated ‘Top Selects’ lineup, featuring 15 carefully chosen projects from a diverse range of genres and languages. This marks a pivotal moment for India as a dominant player in the global Media & Entertainment (M&E) sector, with the country’s rich cultural heritage and talent set to shine at the upcoming World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) to be held from May 1st to 4th, 2025, in Mumbai.

The WAVES Bazaar, a dynamic global marketplace for the media industry, will provide filmmakers and industry professionals a unique opportunity to network, showcase their projects, and connect with international buyers, distributors, and investors. The event promises to elevate India’s status as a prime destination for content creation, investment, and global collaboration.

Showcasing Diverse Talent and Innovation
Among the 15 projects selected for the ‘Top Selects’ section, 9 feature films, 2 documentaries, 2 short films, and 2 web series will be pitched to producers, sales agents, distributors, and festival programmers at an open pitching session on May 2, 2025, at the Jio World Centre. The selection includes works in multiple languages such as Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, and more, reflecting the vast cultural tapestry of India and beyond.

The selected projects will also be featured in the Viewing Room, a dedicated space for showcasing recently completed films and projects in post-production. Attendees can explore 100 films from 8 countries, including India, Sri Lanka, the USA, Germany, and more. Notable additions include films produced by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), restored classics from the National Film Archive of India (NFAI), and student projects from esteemed institutions like FTII and SRFTI.
