TFP Bureau, Lakhanpur, April 26, 2025: In a significant effort to promote education and enhance the safety and convenience of students, a new 20-seater school bus was inaugurated at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Lakhanpur, Surguja district, on Friday. The bus, procured at a cost of ₹20 lakh, will provide transportation for more than 80 children from 11 villages surrounding Lakhanpur, including Bharatpur, Ganeshpur, Jhanwarpara, and Kosanga.
The bus was formally handed over to the school by the chief guest, Babulal Verma, Additional Chief Engineer of Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL), during a special ceremony. Verma cut the ribbon and handed over the bus documents to Mrs. Madhu Pandey, the Principal of Saraswati Shishu Mandir. The event was also attended by various dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Engineer of RRVUNL, Lalchand Baresah, and senior representatives from the Adani Foundation, such as Cluster HR Head Ram Dwivedi, Head of Land Department Rajesh Sao, and Ashok Panda, Head of the Adani Foundation in Sarguja.

The initiative, which was coordinated with local MLA Rajesh Agarwal, aims to address the transportation challenges faced by students from rural areas. The new bus will provide a safe and reliable mode of transport, ensuring that children from distant villages can attend school without difficulty.
In his address, Babulal Verma emphasized RRVUNL’s commitment to regional development, stating, “RRVUNL is dedicated to improving the lives of people in this region, and we are hopeful that this bus will serve as a safe transportation option for students from surrounding rural areas.”
The Adani Foundation, in collaboration with RRVUNL, has been actively involved in various developmental projects aimed at improving infrastructure in the region. These initiatives include repairs and renovations of government schools, construction of new classrooms, the installation of concrete toilets, road development, and the beautification of passenger waiting rooms. Additionally, as part of its environmental sustainability efforts, the foundation has planted over 15 lakh trees across more than 450 hectares of mined land in the region.
At the end of the program, the school management expressed their gratitude to both RRVUNL and the Adani Foundation for their generous contribution to the educational welfare of the community.
