TFP Bureau, New Delhi, May 3, 2025: India and Denmark have renewed their commitment to advancing clean energy cooperation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday. The agreement was signed by Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Power, and H.E. Mr. Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Ambassador of Denmark to India, with Shri Manohar Lal, India’s Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, in attendance.
This renewed MoU strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two countries in the energy sector. Aimed at supporting India’s ambitious target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, the agreement will foster increased collaboration in clean and sustainable energy development.
The new MoU builds on the success of the original agreement signed in 2020, which was set to expire in June 2025. It expands the areas of cooperation to include power system modeling, renewable energy integration, cross-border electricity trading, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Additionally, the partnership emphasizes enhanced knowledge exchange, joint training programs, and expert-led study tours.
Minister Manohar Lal highlighted that this continued partnership is a testament to the mutual commitment between India and Denmark to drive sustainable development and accelerate the global transition to clean energy.
