TFP Bureau Korba, May 13, 2025: Bharat Aluminum Company Limited (BALCO) successfully organized a mock drill near Ash Dyke with the aim of enhancing safety protocols and emergency preparedness. The event, conducted in collaboration with the district administration, focused on improving disaster management capabilities and fostering a quick, coordinated response during emergency situations.
The drill, simulating a possible industrial accident, saw the participation of key stakeholders including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Emergency Fire Safety, Chhattisgarh, District Administration, BALCOnagar Police, BALCO Hospital team, and members of the local community. The exercise allowed participants to experience and practice real-time emergency response procedures, ensuring preparedness in case of an actual disaster.
Speaking at the event, Savita Sidar, Naib Tehsildar, emphasized the importance of regular emergency drills, stressing that employees should always be alert and prepared to act swiftly in such situations. She noted that teamwork, with both male and female employees working together, is crucial in disaster management. Sidar also highlighted that such initiatives help increase awareness and empower the general public to act effectively in times of crisis.
BALCO’s CEO and Director, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, commended the success of the mock drill, underscoring its importance in promoting collective awareness and preparedness. He stated, “This mock drill not only provides an opportunity to assess our safety procedures but also highlights areas where improvements can be made. Our goal is to ensure a safe and sustainable industrial environment, where community participation plays a crucial role.”
