TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 14 2025: The Chhattisgarh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, held a crucial meeting at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan on Tuesday, approving a series of transformative decisions aimed at improving education quality, uplifting financially weak artists, and promoting industrial development across the state.
‘Mukhyamantri Shiksha Quality Campaign’ to Improve Learning Outcomes
In a landmark move to enhance education in government schools, the Cabinet approved the launch of the Mukhyamantri Shiksha Quality Campaign under the National Education Policy. The campaign will emphasize improved teaching methods, stronger parent-teacher engagement, and regular monitoring of academic standards.
Key initiatives include grading schools based on social audits, focused monitoring of weaker institutions, educational exposure visits for teachers, and strengthened classroom learning processes. Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) will play a central role in increasing parental involvement.
Pension for Artists and Writers Raised to Rs 5,000
Providing long-awaited relief to impoverished artists and writers, the Cabinet approved a significant hike in the monthly pension under the Financial Assistance Scheme of the Culture Department—from Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000. The move, announced earlier during the Budget Session, seeks to support cultural contributors struggling with financial insecurity.
This is the first increase in 12 years and will benefit 162 existing beneficiaries, raising the total annual expenditure from Rs 38.88 lakh to Rs 97.20 lakh. The scheme, which began in 1986, has undergone its first major revision since 2012.
Industrial Land Policy Amended for Transparency and Speed
To attract more investment, the Cabinet approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh Industrial Land and Building Management Rules, 2015. These changes aim to make the process of land allotment more transparent, efficient, and investor-friendly.
