TFP Bureau, New Delhi, June 18, 2025: In a landmark move to simplify toll payments and enhance travel convenience, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the introduction of a FASTag-based annual pass priced at ₹3,000. Set to launch on 15 August 2025, the pass will be valid for one year from activation or up to 200 journeys, whichever comes first.
Designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans, the pass enables hassle-free travel across national highways throughout the country. A dedicated link for activation and renewal will soon be available on the Highway Travel App as well as the official websites of NHAI and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
The initiative addresses long-standing concerns related to toll plazas located within a 60-kilometer radius, streamlining toll payments into a single, convenient transaction. By reducing waiting times and congestion at toll booths, the policy aims to offer millions of private vehicle users a faster, smoother, and dispute-free travel experience on the national road network.
