Nava Raipur to Be Developed with Future Needs in Mind: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

TFP Bureau,Raipur, July 6, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today held a comprehensive review meeting of the Housing and Environment Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur. The Chief Minister assessed ongoing projects under the Nava Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) and issued important directives to ensure the city’s development aligns with future requirements.

Accompanied by Finance and Housing Environment Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, and senior officials including NRDA CEO Shri Chandan Kumar and Chhattisgarh Housing Board Commissioner Shri Avnish Sharan, the Chief Minister stressed that “well-organized development of Nava Raipur is the government’s foremost priority.”

Highlighting Nava Raipur’s status as one of India’s most modern capitals, CM Sai pointed to the presence of premier institutions such as IIM, Triple IT, and the National Law University as catalysts for the city’s growing population. “We must expand civic amenities proactively to meet the demands of this rising settlement,” he said.

The Chief Minister also discussed enhancing rail connectivity, referring to the upcoming Parmalkasa-Kharsia railway line under construction through Balodabazar district. He expressed the government’s intention to link this new line to Nava Raipur, which will improve rail services and benefit local citizens.

Emphasizing economic growth, Shri Sai called for the development of a logistics hub in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar to boost import-export activities, linked with the nearly completed expressway under the Bharat Mala Project. Officials reported that this expressway will reduce the Raipur-Visakhapatnam distance by 100 km, facilitating smoother trade and transportation.

The Chief Minister noted that the state’s new industrial policy is attracting significant investment, expected to generate employment opportunities for local youth. Environmental initiatives were also reviewed, with updates on the plantation of trees like Peepal, Banyan, Karanj, Neem, Ashok, Amaltas, and Gulmohar under the Oxygen Zone project in Nava Raipur.

Officials shared future plans for a commission bidding complex to house various government bodies, alongside proposals for a working women’s hostel, a 100-bed hospital, and a new police station to enhance urban facilities.

CM Sai directed that allotted land plots be efficiently utilized for constructing these new facilities, ensuring systematic growth.

The review also covered the performance of key bodies under the Housing and Environment Department, including the Chhattisgarh Environment Protection Board, Chhattisgarh Housing Board, Town and Country Investment, and the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). The Chief Minister gave necessary instructions to further streamline their operations.

This meeting marks a crucial step toward realizing Nava Raipur’s vision as a well-planned, modern city equipped to meet the needs of its expanding population and economy.
