CM Residence to Host Grand Hareli Festival Celebration on July 24

TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 24, 2025: Chhattisgarh’s deep-rooted agrarian and cultural heritage will take center stage on July 24 as the Chief Minister’s residence becomes the venue for a vibrant and traditional celebration of the Hareli festival. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, extending warm greetings to the people of the state, said Hareli is a festival of nature, tradition, and rural harmony, reflecting the cultural soul of Chhattisgarh.

Organised by the Department of Culture, the festival will feature a grand showcase of Chhattisgarhi folk art and rituals, including ceremonial worship of agricultural tools, performances of Gedi dance and Raut Nacha, swings for the monsoon season, and recitation of the devotional Savanahi Ramayan. The CM will personally participate in traditional rituals, paying homage to farmers and nature.

The CM residence has been adorned with green floral arches, traditional torans, and installations of rural handicrafts, transforming the premises into a lively reflection of Chhattisgarh’s folk identity. A special exhibition of traditional and modern farming tools will offer insight into the region’s agricultural legacy and innovation.

In his Hareli message, CM Sai described the festival as a meaningful expression of gratitude towards Mother Earth and the environment. He urged people to engage in tree plantation drives and see Hareli as a celebration not only of tradition but also of ecological responsibility.

Children attending the festival will enjoy traditional folk games, while exhibitions on local art will further highlight the state’s vibrant cultural wealth. CM Sai emphasized the importance of passing this rich heritage on to future generations, calling Hareli a celebration of coexistence with nature and community life.

“The Hareli festival is not just a cultural celebration, but also a call to preserve our environment and values,” the CM said. He hoped the festivities would bring prosperity, greenery, and harmony to every home in Chhattisgarh.

The Hareli celebration at the CM residence promises to be both a nostalgic and forward-looking affair—honoring tradition while promoting sustainability and progress.
