TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 24, 2025: In a significant boost to the teaching community, the Chhattisgarh government has promoted 1,227 lecturers under the T cadre across various subjects in the School Education Department. This move, in line with the directives of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, marks another step in the state’s ongoing efforts to fast-track educational reforms and enhance teacher welfare.
The promoted lecturers span a range of disciplines including Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Political Science, History, Geography, Economics, and Commerce. Their new postings will be allocated through a transparent counselling process.
The decision reflects the government’s commitment to recognizing teachers’ service, seniority, and qualifications while ensuring timely career progression. “We are focused on strengthening both the quality of education and the morale of our educators,” the Chief Minister has repeatedly emphasized.
Over the past year, the School Education Department has promoted more than 7,000 staff across various levels, significantly accelerating administrative procedures that had long been pending. Notably, 2,621 Assistant Teachers (Science Laboratory) were also recruited recently to bolster hands-on science education in schools.
Earlier, on April 30 this year, promotion orders for around 2,900 principals were issued. The posting of these newly promoted principals from the T cadre will also be conducted through counselling to ensure placements that align with school needs and teacher preferences.
Meanwhile, the matter of promotions for principals under the E cadre is currently sub judice. The government has assured that necessary action will be taken in accordance with the court’s decision in a time-bound manner.
This series of reforms and promotions is seen as a major morale booster for educators and a strategic move to enhance the overall performance of government schools in the state.
