ACC and Ambuja Cement Garner 18 Awards at 38th Annual Mines Safety Fortnight Celebration
TTRP Bureau Raipur, August 9, 2023: The 38th Annual Mines Safety Fortnight Celebration held in the Bilaspur and Raigarh regions has witnessed ACC and Ambuja Cement securing a remarkable tally of 18 awards across diverse categories. Orchestrated under the vigilant guidance of the Director General of Mines Safety, this event underscores the commitment of these cement giants to safety excellence in the mining industry.
In a commendable feat, ACC and Ambuja Cement clinched recognition in various segments, including safety management plans, explosive usage, mine planning, and statutory records, alongside general work, housekeeping, and safety awareness. This recognition underscores their dedication to safety and operational excellence.
A significant highlight of this event was the tribute paid to Ms. Shephali Chandrakar, a trailblazing figure in the Bilaspur and Raigarh region. As the first female mining engineer at ACC Limited’s Jamul Mines, Ms. Chandrakar’s contributions were applauded for setting a shining example for women within the mining industry. Shri Prabhat Kumar, Director General of Central Mines Safety, lauded her accomplishments and encouraged her to continue blazing trails in the field.
The grand finale of this annual mines safety fortnight, orchestrated by Nu Vista Limited in Raipur, was graced by esteemed dignitaries. Shri Prabhat Kumar, Director General of Central Mines Safety, Shri Vir Pratap, Director of Mines Safety in the Raigarh region, and Shri A.K. Singh, Director of Mines Safety for Bilaspur Region-1, were among the distinguished attendees. The event brought together luminaries from the industry, exemplifying the collaborative spirit that characterizes the mining sector.
ACC Limited’s Jamul Cement Works emerged as a notable frontrunner in the award sweepstakes, securing numerous accolades across diverse categories. The coveted first prize for safety management plans, training, and safety performance in the A2 category was clinched by Jamul Mines. Additionally, Pathariya Mines secured the top prize for explosive usage and safety training, and Nandini Khundani Mines achieved recognition for mine planning and statutory records. Similarly, Ambuja Cement Limited’s Bhatapara Cement Works shone bright, with Rawan Limestone Mines clinching laurels in general work and mine planning.
In response to the accolades, Shri Suresh Dubey, ACC Jamul Plant Head, expressed deep pride in the team’s achievements and extended gratitude to the DGMS team. Shri Mahaveer Singh Bolia, Plant Head of Ambuja Cement, applauded Ambuja Mines for their victories and acknowledged their unwavering commitment to safety.
