CM Vishnu Dev Sai Reviews Flood-Hit Areas of Bastar, Directs Speedy Relief and Rehabilitation

TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 1, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on Monday undertook an aerial and ground survey of flood-affected Dantewada and Bastar districts, directly assessing the damage caused by heavy rains and floods. He interacted with affected families at relief camps, reviewed ongoing rescue and rehabilitation work, and instructed officials to ensure timely and adequate support for every household impacted by the disaster.

During his visit to a temporary relief camp set up at Chuditikara ward in Dantewada, the Chief Minister met displaced families, listened to their concerns and assured them of full government support. He directed the district administration to maintain uninterrupted arrangements of food, clean drinking water and safe accommodation for the camp residents. He also inspected a health camp at the site, inquiring about the availability of medicines, doctors and primary health facilities. Families present expressed satisfaction with the administration’s prompt relief measures.

The Chief Minister further inspected a flood-damaged bridge and reviewed the status of traffic restoration and repair works. He stressed that the immediate restoration of basic services such as roads, electricity and drinking water must be carried out without delay. “Any negligence in relief and rehabilitation efforts will not be tolerated,” he warned officials.

Later, Shri Sai chaired a review meeting at the Dantewada Collectorate with senior officials and departmental heads. The meeting discussed the progress of rescue operations, distribution of relief material, rehabilitation plans and assistance to flood-hit families. He instructed that administrative teams should remain consistently present in villages, ensuring that no affected family is left out of relief coverage.

The Chief Minister underlined that while natural calamities like floods bring immense hardship, challenges can be overcome with swift administration and community cooperation. He emphasized special care for children, women and the elderly in camps, while also directing attention towards ensuring health and educational facilities remain accessible.

Accompanying him during the visit were Forest Minister and district in-charge minister Kedar Kashyap, Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma, Member of Parliament Mahesh Kashyap, Chief Secretary to the CM Subodh Kumar Singh, Revenue Secretary and Disaster Relief Commissioner Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, Divisional Commissioner Doman Singh, along with senior district officials.
