BALCO Hosts Yoga Camps to Mark World Yoga Day, Engages Over 750 Participants

TFP Bureau, Korba, June 22, 2025:On the occasion of World Yoga Day, Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a Vedanta Group company, organized a series of yoga camps across multiple locations, drawing enthusiastic participation from more than 750 individuals. The camps, aimed at promoting health, mindfulness, and overall well-being, were conducted within the plant premises as well as in local schools, Nandghars, and Anganwadi centers, in collaboration with partner organizations SEEDS, Srot, and BYF.

The initiative was designed to bring the benefits of yoga to a wide spectrum of society, including employees, business partners, community members, Vedanta Skill trainees, youth, children, mothers, farmers, and frontline health workers. Participants were introduced to the holistic advantages of yoga for both physical and mental health through thoughtfully designed sessions.

BALCO Chief Executive Officer and Director Mr. Rajesh Kumar extended his greetings to all participants, emphasizing the global recognition of India’s ancient yoga tradition. “Yoga is not just a path to physical fitness; it is a powerful means of achieving mental peace and spiritual growth. Regular practice of yoga fosters positive energy and resilience,” he remarked. He also appreciated the collective efforts of Balkonagar’s social organizations for their continued support in organizing these annual events.

During the sessions, participants engaged in a variety of yoga asanas and breathing exercises, including Surya Namaskar, Makrasana, Kapalabhati, Anulom-Vilom, Tadasana, Setu Bandhasana, Skandha Chakra, Shavasana, Pranayama, meditation, Sankalp, and Shanti Path. The comprehensive practice offered participants a well-rounded introduction to yoga’s diverse benefits.

The event underscored BALCO’s commitment to community health and wellness, reinforcing the importance of integrating yoga into daily life for personal well-being and social prosperity. Participants left the sessions inspired, many pledging to make yoga a regular part of their routine. The successful program not only raised health awareness but also fostered a spirit of unity and positivity within the community.
