TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 4, 2025: The Chhattisgarh Transport Department has issued an advisory urging citizens to pay all RTO e-challans strictly through the department’s authorized portal – https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in – amid reports of fraudulent activities involving fake links and messages.
According to officials, several cases have recently surfaced where unsuspecting vehicle owners were targeted through deceptive emails and text messages directing them to bogus websites for challan payments. The department cautioned that making payments through unauthorized portals could result in financial loss and urged people to remain vigilant.
To check and pay genuine challans, vehicle owners must log on to the official portal, click on the “Pay Online” option, and verify details by entering the last four digits of their vehicle number along with the chassis or engine number. The complete challan information will then be displayed, enabling safe and direct online payment.
The department further clarified that all e-challans issued by both the Police and the Transport Department are uploaded exclusively on the official website. Citizens were strongly advised not to respond to suspicious calls, messages, or apps, and to avoid clicking on any external payment links.
In case of fraudulent activity or suspicious communication, people can immediately report the matter to the nearest police station or the Transport Department for further action.
Authorities emphasized that public cooperation is vital in preventing cyber frauds. The Transport Department’s appeal serves as a reminder that digital security is as important as road safety, and using only the official government platform will ensure that challan payments are secure, authentic, and hassle-free.
