The event, to be held during the Lakhpati Didi Conference in Rajnandgaon, will see the Vice President transferring Rs 647.28 crore online to the bank accounts of over 69 lakh women beneficiaries across the state.

A notable feature of this installment is the inclusion of 7,658 new beneficiaries from villages in the Bastar division, which have been recently freed from Maoist influence through sustained efforts by the state government. These women, living in areas covered under the Niyad Nella Nar Yojana, will receive the scheme’s benefits for the first time.

Implemented in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision to empower women, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana provides Rs 1,000 per month to eligible women to promote self-reliance and financial security. Since its inception, the scheme has disbursed Rs 13,024.40 crore through 20 installments. With the 21st installment being released, this total will rise to Rs 13,671.68 crore.

According to the Women and Child Development Department, new beneficiaries under the Niyad Nella Nar Yojana include 3,872 women from Bijapur district, 428 from Dantewada, 191 from Kanker, 559 from Narayanpur, and 2,608 from Sukma. Together, they will receive Rs 76.26 lakh in financial assistance.

The Niyad Nella Nar Yojana, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, aims to ensure rapid development and access to welfare schemes in 327 villages of Bastar division that were once affected by Maoist violence. The initiative focuses on improving infrastructure, expanding livelihood opportunities, and integrating local populations into mainstream development.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the inclusion of women from these villages in the Mahtari Vandan Yojana marks a proud moment for the state. “The distribution of benefits to women from areas liberated from Maoist violence is a symbol of hope and progress. It is a matter of pride that Vice President Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan will release this installment, signifying the government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of every woman in Chhattisgarh,” he said.

The Mahtari Vandan Yojana has emerged as a cornerstone of Chhattisgarh’s women-centric welfare policies, promoting economic stability and empowerment at the grassroots level. With this latest installment, the state continues to move toward its goal of building a self-reliant and inclusive society where women play a central role in driving progress and prosperity.
