TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 12, 2025: In a major step toward simplifying and modernizing the paddy procurement process, the Chhattisgarh Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department has launched the ‘Tuhar Token Mobile App’ for the Kharif marketing year 2025–26. The new digital initiative will allow farmers to obtain procurement tokens directly from their homes, eliminating the need to stand in long queues at cooperative societies and procurement centers.
Available on the Google Play Store, the app enables farmers to register easily using their Aadhaar number and a one-time password (OTP). Once registered, they can apply for procurement tokens daily from 8:00 a.m. onwards. This move marks a significant shift toward transparency, accessibility, and efficiency in the paddy procurement system—one of the most crucial operations in the agrarian state.
Transparent and Farmer-Friendly Token System
Food Secretary Reena Babasaheb Kangale stated that the initiative has been designed to ensure fairness and convenience for all categories of farmers. Under the new system, marginal farmers owning up to two acres of land will be eligible for a maximum of one token, small farmers with holdings between two and ten acres can receive up to two tokens, and large farmers with over ten acres will be allowed up to three tokens.
Token generation through the mobile app will remain open from Sunday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Once generated, each token will remain valid for the next seven procurement days, allowing farmers flexibility in managing their paddy deliveries.
To promote balanced participation, 70 percent of the daily procurement limit at each procurement center will be reserved for tokens issued through the mobile app. Of this, 80 percent will be allocated to small and marginal farmers, while the remaining 20 percent will go to large farmers. The remaining 30 percent of the procurement quota will continue to be available at the society level, ensuring inclusive participation from all categories of farmers.
For instance, if a procurement center’s daily capacity is 1,000 quintals, 700 quintals will be booked through the app. Of that, 560 quintals will be reserved for small and marginal farmers and 140 quintals for large farmers.
Modern Technology for Efficient Procurement
According to the Food Department, the Tuhar Token Mobile App is part of the government’s broader effort to introduce transparency and technology into agricultural operations. The app will not only reduce crowding and wait times at procurement centers but also ensure fair access and time-bound token allocation.
Officials emphasized that the system will empower farmers, particularly those in remote areas, by providing them with an equal opportunity to sell their produce efficiently and on time. By digitizing token allocation, the department aims to minimize human intervention, reduce delays, and ensure that the paddy procurement process runs smoothly across the state.
The introduction of this mobile app reinforces Chhattisgarh’s commitment to farmer welfare and its ongoing mission to use technology to deliver better, faster, and more transparent public services—ensuring that every farmer can sell their paddy conveniently and confidently.
