TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 23, 2025: A group of 68 youth from Chhattisgarh embarked on a significant national journey on Sunday, as Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai flagged off their participation in the Unity March being organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The flag-off ceremony was held at the Chhattisgarh State Youth Commission office in Raipur, where state officials, public representatives, and a large number of young participants gathered for the occasion.
The youth delegation will travel to Gujarat to join the nationwide march from Sardar Patel’s Karmabhoomi, Karamsad, to the iconic Statue of Unity in Kevadia. The march, scheduled from November 26 to December 6, aims to honour the Iron Man of India and spread awareness about his unparalleled contribution to the nation’s unity.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai addressed the gathering, highlighting Sardar Patel’s historic role in integrating 562 princely states and British-era territories into a unified India. He said Patel’s leadership, strong resolve, and diplomatic foresight laid the bedrock of the nation’s internal cohesion. The Chief Minister added that the participation of Chhattisgarh’s youth in this national padyatra reflects the state’s commitment to preserving the legacy of India’s great leaders.
Sharing his recent experience, Shri Sai said he had attended the Bharat Parv in Kevadia where he witnessed India’s cultural richness displayed around the world’s tallest statue. He expressed pride that Chhattisgarh’s distinct cultural heritage, diversity, and traditional cuisine were showcased prominently at the event. He said the Unity March would be an inspiring journey for the participants, giving them a unique opportunity to experience India’s spirit of harmony and patriotism.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao also addressed the youth, stating that Sardar Patel’s contribution to shaping India’s cultural and geographical unity remains unmatched. He emphasized that Patel’s steadfastness in integrating the princely states laid the foundation for a strong, united nation. Shri Sao extended his congratulations to the selected youth and encouraged them to uphold the values of national unity throughout the march.
Jagdalpur MLA Shri Kiran Singh Deo conveyed his best wishes to the youth participating in the padyatra and praised their enthusiasm and commitment. He said such national-level initiatives inspire young citizens to understand the country’s history and contribute meaningfully to its future.
The event was attended by Raipur District Panchayat Chairman Shri Naveen Agarwal, former MLA Shri Naveen Markandey, Shri G. Venkat Rao, Shri Shyam Narang, Shri Rahul Tikaria, Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department Shri Yashwant Kumar, along with a large number of youth, officials, and employees.
The Unity March is expected to serve not only as a tribute to Sardar Patel but also as a platform for youth across the nation to come together, celebrate India’s unity, and foster a deeper understanding of its diverse cultural fabric.
