PROs must master new-age media: Commissioner Shri Rajat Bansal

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 24, 2026: Public Relations Commissioner Shri Rajat Bansal, while chairing a meeting at the Samvad office in Nava Raipur, stressed that PROs must be proficient in all forms of new-age media. Adapting to evolving technology and communication platforms, he said, is key to effective public outreach.

He underscored that public relations is a high-responsibility role that must be handled with utmost seriousness. As a bridge between the government and the public, PROs carry greater accountability. He added that every officer’s performance will be assessed strictly on outcomes.

Shri Bansal directed officers to maintain regular coordination with ministers, departmental secretaries, heads of departments, and district collectors to ensure timely and effective information flow—critical for implementation and publicity of government schemes.

Reviewing preparations for the state-wide Sushaan Tihar -good governance festival starting May 1st, he instructed maximum use of print, electronic, and social media to widely promote welfare schemes. Every platform, he said, must be leveraged to expand reach.

He emphasized sharing real beneficiary experiences through videos and news stories to boost public awareness and participation. Continuous coordination with all media platforms was also mandated to ensure effective dissemination of government achievements.

Calling for proactive and responsible functioning, he warned against negligence and ordered disciplinary action against PROs in three districts for lapses in publicity work.

Senior officials, including Additional Directors Shri Umesh Mishra, Shri Sanjeev Tiwari, Shri Alok Dev, and Smt. Harsha Pauranik, along with officers from the Directorate, along with district public relations officers from various districts, attended the meeting.
