Raipur Marks 77th Republic Day with State-Level Celebrations and Grand Parade

Governor Shri Ramen Deka unfurls the tricolour at Police Parade Ground, calls upon citizens to uphold constitutional values and national unity

TFP Burea, Raipur, January 26, 2026: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with solemn pride and patriotic fervour across Chhattisgarh, with the main state-level समारोह held at the Police Parade Ground in the capital city Raipur on Monday. Governor Shri Ramen Dekaunfurled the National Flag amid ceremonial honours and took the salute of an impressive parade, marking the formal commencement of the celebrations.

The parade featured contingents of the state police, armed forces, home guards and other uniformed services, reflecting discipline, unity and commitment to the nation. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from officials, schoolchildren and citizens, who gathered in large numbers to be part of the national celebration.

During the inspection of the parade, Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel and Director General of Police Shri Arun Dev Gautam were present on the dais along with senior civil and police officers, lending administrative and institutional significance to the occasion. Addressing the gathering after unfurling the tricolour, Governor Shri Ramen Deka extended warm greetings to the people of Chhattisgarh on the occasion of Republic Day. He reminded citizens that the Constitution provides both rights and responsibilities, and its true strength lies in collective respect for democratic institutions, social harmony and the rule of law.

Highlighting the relevance of the Constitution in contemporary times, Shri Deka said that the ideals of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity continue to guide India’s progress as the world’s largest democracy. He called upon citizens, especially the youth, to actively contribute to nation-building by upholding constitutional values and working towards inclusive development.
