Trainee judges will strengthen the third pillar of democracy, says CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Trainee judges from Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy meet Chief Minister at Vidhan Sabha; urged to uphold constitutional values and ensure fair justice delivery

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 12, 2026: Trainee judges of the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy, Bilaspur, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his office in the Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha on Thursday.

Welcoming the young judicial officers, the Chief Minister congratulated them on their selection to the judicial service and conveyed his best wishes for their future responsibilities in the justice system.

Addressing the trainee judges during the interaction, Sai said the judiciary is one of the most vital pillars of democracy and plays a crucial role in upholding the rule of law in the country. He said the judges joining the judicial service today will play an important role in strengthening the justice delivery system in the years ahead.

The Chief Minister said that as members of the judiciary, they will be entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that justice reaches every citizen in a fair, transparent and timely manner. He expressed confidence that the trainee judges will perform their duties with honesty, sensitivity and a deep commitment to the constitutional values of justice, equality and impartiality.

Sai emphasised that the judiciary is often referred to as the third pillar of democracy, alongside the legislature and the executive. Its independence and credibility, he said, are essential for maintaining public faith in democratic institutions.

He added that judges have a significant responsibility in safeguarding the rights and freedoms guaranteed to citizens under the Constitution. By delivering impartial judgments and ensuring access to justice, the judiciary plays a key role in strengthening public confidence in the legal system.

The Chief Minister also encouraged the trainee judges to approach their responsibilities with dedication and empathy, particularly when dealing with cases involving vulnerable sections of society. He noted that sensitivity and fairness are essential qualities for members of the judiciary.

During the interaction, the trainee judges shared their experiences from their training at the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy and expressed their commitment to serving society through the justice system.

The visit was part of an orientation programme aimed at familiarising newly selected judicial officers with the functioning of various constitutional institutions and governance processes in the state.

Principal Secretary (Law) Sushma Sawant, Director of the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy Nidhi Sharma Tiwari, and other officials were present on the occasion.
