Chhattisgarh Assembly Budget Session Concludes Successfully, CM Sai Thanks Members

Key bills passed during 15 sittings; Chief Minister hails cooperation, calls Assembly a pillar of democracy

The Budget Session of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly concluded on a successful note, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressing gratitude to all ministers, legislators and officials for their cooperation in ensuring smooth proceedings.

Following the conclusion of the session, ministers and MLAs met the Chief Minister at his office in the Assembly premises and congratulated him on the successful conduct of the House.

Cooperation Ensured Productive Session

Addressing the gathering, Sai said the session was meaningful and productive due to the collective efforts and coordination of all stakeholders. He described the Legislative Assembly as a “temple of democracy,” emphasising that its primary responsibility is to uphold and strengthen democratic values.

15 Sittings, Key Legislative Business Completed

The Chief Minister informed that the session comprised 15 sittings, during which several महत्वपूर्ण legislative matters were taken up and passed. The House adopted the motion of thanks on the Governor’s Address and approved the Budget for the financial year 2026–27.

Among the major legislations passed were the Chhattisgarh Freedom of Religion Bill 2026, the Chhattisgarh Town and Country Planning Amendment Bill 2026 and the Chhattisgarh Housing Board Amendment Bill 2026.

In addition, bills aimed at preventing malpractice in recruitment examinations and establishing the Chhattisgarh Employee Selection Board were passed unanimously, which the Chief Minister said would ensure transparency and benefit the youth of the state.

Surrendered Naxals Witness Proceedings

Highlighting a unique पहल, Sai noted that around 585 surrendered Naxals observed the Assembly proceedings during the session. He described this as an inspiring step towards integrating misguided youth into the mainstream and strengthening peace and internal security in Chhattisgarh.

Vibrant Democratic Discussions

The Chief Minister said members actively participated in debates, raised public issues and questioned the government on various matters concerning their constituencies. Such active participation, he added, reflects the vibrancy and strength of democracy.

Wishes for Speaker’s Health

Sai also expressed satisfaction over the recovery of Assembly Speaker Raman Singh, noting that despite health issues, he monitored the proceedings digitally. He extended his wishes for the Speaker’s good health and long life.

Acknowledges Leaders, Officials and Media

The Chief Minister extended special thanks to Leader of Opposition Charandas Mahant, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kedar Kashyap, members of the Council of Ministers, all MLAs, Assembly Secretary Dinesh Sharma, security personnel and staff for their contributions.

He also appreciated the role of media representatives in effectively conveying the proceedings of the House and issues of public interest to the people.

Festive Greetings

On the occasion of Chaitra Navratri, the Chief Minister extended greetings to the citizens and wished for peace, happiness and prosperity across the state.

The successful completion of the Budget Session is being seen as a reflection of coordinated governance and legislative efficiency, with the passage of key bills expected to have a long-term impact on administration and development in the state.
