Tank Ram Verma directs strict adherence to staff timings, improved cleanliness, and better student facilities ahead of the new academic session
TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 22, 2026: Higher Education Minister Tank Ram Verma conducted a surprise inspection of Mopka Nipaniya College as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to improve the standard of higher education and streamline institutional systems before the commencement of the upcoming academic session.
The inspection highlighted several irregularities in the functioning of the college, prompting the Minister to issue strict directives aimed at improving discipline, administrative efficiency, and student facilities. The move is being viewed as a strong message from the government regarding accountability and effective management in educational institutions.
During the inspection, the college Principal was found absent from duty. The Minister also observed a low attendance of teaching and non-teaching staff, with only three Assistant Professors and two office staff members present on the campus at the time of inspection. In addition, information related to the college’s financial records and accounts was reportedly not available immediately for review.
Expressing serious displeasure over the situation, Verma stated that the government would adopt a “zero tolerance” approach toward negligence, indiscipline, and administrative laxity in government educational institutions. He emphasized that all officers and employees must perform their duties responsibly and maintain proper discipline within colleges.
The Minister also took note of poor cleanliness arrangements on the campus and directed officials to immediately improve sanitation and maintenance. He instructed that both academic and non-academic staff must strictly adhere to prescribed working hours and ensure timely attendance in the institution.
Verma stressed that students should be provided with a clean, healthy, and disciplined educational environment. He said that the government is committed to strengthening higher education infrastructure and ensuring better learning conditions for students across the state.
With the new academic session scheduled to begin shortly, the Minister directed the college administration to prioritize student convenience and preparedness. He instructed officials to establish a dedicated “Help Desk” on the campus to assist newly admitted and returning students by addressing their queries and providing necessary guidance.
The Minister also ordered that essential facilities such as drinking water arrangements, seating facilities, and other student amenities be completed within the stipulated timeframe before the commencement of classes.
Officials were instructed to ensure that no student faces inconvenience during the admission process or academic session due to administrative shortcomings.
The Higher Education Minister said the state government is determined to ensure that colleges located in rural and remote regions receive facilities and administrative attention comparable to urban institutions. He added that regular inspections and monitoring would continue to ensure transparency, accountability, and quality improvement in the higher education sector.
College officials and departmental representatives were present during the inspection.
