Initiatives Aim to Enhance Empowerment and Welfare

TFP Bureau, Raipur; March 3, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai took significant steps towards empowerment and welfare in Jashpur district by launching two impactful initiatives: the “Sashakt Jashpur” campaign and the “Shram Van” worker registration drive.

Under the “Sashakt Jashpur” initiative, Chief Minister Sai personally distributed aid to Divyangs in Bagiya village, as part of efforts to empower individuals with disabilities. The aid included disability certificates, bus passes, and essential equipment, aiming to enhance the quality of life for Divyangs in the region. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of the “Sashakt Jashpur” campaign, which seeks to uplift the district across various domains such as health, education, employment, tourism, infrastructure, and utilities.

As part of the campaign’s first phase, the “From Disability to Empowerment” program was launched district-wide, aiming to provide proper treatment, disability certificates, and necessary equipment to all Divyangs in Jashpur district. Additionally, the program offers skill development training for employment opportunities, reflecting the government’s commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities.

Simultaneously, Chief Minister Sai flagged off the ‘Shram Van’ from Bagiya village, marking the commencement of a worker registration drive across various gram panchayats in the district. The initiative aims to register unorganized and construction workers aged between 18 to 59 years, enabling them to access welfare schemes provided by the Labour Department.

The registration drive targets workers residing in different Gram Panchayats of Jashpur district, facilitating their inclusion in welfare programs and ensuring their access to essential benefits. With 29,537 workers already registered under the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and 29,728 workers under the Chhattisgarh Unorganized Workers State Social Security Board in the district, the “Shram Van” initiative aims to further expand the reach of welfare schemes and enhance the socio-economic well-being of workers in Jashpur.
