Congress Unveils Comprehensive Youth Employment Plan

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 10, 2024: In a bid to tackle unemployment head-on, the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee unveiled an ambitious plan promising to create 30 lakh jobs if the Congress government comes to power at the Centre. State Congress President Deepak Baij addressed journalists at the Rajiv Bhawan, highlighting the party’s commitment to harnessing the potential of India’s youth for rapid national development.

Baij emphasized that the Congress Party recognizes unemployment as a pressing national issue, asserting that comprehensive development can only be achieved by tapping into the energy and talents of the country’s youth. He reiterated the promises made by National President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress leader Shri Rahul Gandhi to prioritize job creation and security if elected.

Key Highlights of Congress’ Employment Plan

Recruitment Trust: The Congress guarantees to generate 30 lakh jobs in the Central Government, including filling 10 lakh sanctioned vacancies in various ministries and departments. Additional vacancies in crucial sectors like health, education, police, and the army will also be addressed. The party pledges to outline further job creation initiatives in its manifesto.

First Job Confirmed: A new Apprenticeship Guarantee Act will be enacted to provide a one-year apprenticeship opportunity to every diploma holder or college graduate under the age of 25. Trainees will receive financial support of Rs 1 lakh per year, fostering skills and employability among youth.

Freedom from Paper Leak: Congress vows to enact new legislation to ensure the integrity of public examinations and prevent paper leaks, safeguarding the aspirations of millions of aspirants. The party cites examples of rampant paper leaks across states and pledges to uphold the highest standards of fairness and transparency.

Young Light Fund: A Rs 5,000 crore fund will be established, benefiting young entrepreneurs under 40 years of age across all districts for five years. This initiative aims to democratize access to startup funding and foster innovation at the grassroots level.

Social Security in the Gig Economy: Congress promises legislation to improve working conditions and social security for millions of youth engaged in the gig economy. Drawing from successful state-level initiatives in Rajasthan and Karnataka, the party commits to providing comprehensive insurance coverage for gig workers.

The press conference, attended by notable Congress leaders including Rajya Sabha MP Phoolodevi Netam and State Youth Congress President Akash Sharma, underscores the party’s unwavering commitment to addressing the pressing issues facing India’s youth.
