CM Vishnudev Sai Inaugurates Environment Garden in Bagiya

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 6, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today inaugurated the Environment Garden in his native village of Bagiya, located in Jashpur district. Built on 28 hectares of land at a cost of Rs 53 lakh, the garden offers a scenic and immersive experience for visitors, featuring a variety of natural attractions aimed at fostering environmental awareness and offering recreational opportunities.

During the inauguration, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of environmental protection, planting coconut, betel nut, and Sita Ashok trees within the garden premises as symbolic gestures of his commitment to nature conservation.

The garden boasts several unique features, including an adventure zone, medicinal plant section, children’s park, waterfall, meditation hut, and a butterfly zone showcasing the life cycle of butterflies. These attractions are designed to bring people closer to nature while also offering them a joyful, educational experience.

A Diverse Array of Natural Features and Educational Zones

The Environment Garden houses a jungle trail, along with several specialized zones such as the Arogya Van Path, Jungle Gym, Oxygen Booth, and Gajraj Zone. Plants with medicinal properties, including Harra, Giloy, Ashwagandha, Amla, and others, have been planted throughout the garden to educate visitors about their health benefits. The butterfly zone highlights the role of butterflies in the environment, displaying local species found in Jashpur.

A special Mowgli Adventure Zone has been created for children, featuring exciting activities like commando nets, tire walks, balance bridges, and rope courses. For younger visitors, the Kids Play Zone offers both natural and modern swings, providing hours of entertainment.

Promoting Nature and Cultural Awareness

Sarai Chaav Natural Pagoda, a peaceful spot within the garden, invites families to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Cast sculptures representing primitive culture have also been installed by local artists, connecting the visitors with the region’s cultural heritage. Environmentally conscious design is evident throughout the garden, including the use of bamboo dustbins, underscoring the importance of sustainability.

CM Connects with Children, Spreads Joy

During his visit, Chief Minister Sai took time to interact with local children who were playing in the garden. In a heartwarming gesture, he presented them with fruits and dry fruits, making the occasion even more special for the youngsters. The children, including Dipanshu Yadav, Neetu Dewar, Bhim Vishwakarma, and Ritesh Ram, expressed their happiness and excitement after meeting the Chief Minister.

Dignitaries Attend Inauguration Ceremony

The inauguration was attended by several distinguished guests, including MLA and Vice President of the Sarguja Area Tribal Development Authority Smt. Gomti Sai, District Panchayat President Mr. Salik Sai, PCCF Mr. Arun Pandey, Commissioner Narendra Dugga, IG Mr. Ankit Garg, and other local officials and public representatives. The collaborative efforts behind this initiative aim to foster sustainable development and environmental awareness among the people of the region.
