TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 2, 2026: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected President and Councillors of Bamhanidih Nagar Panchayat in Janjgir-Champa district on July 2. He stated that local self-governance is the strongest pillar of democracy, and Nagar Panchayats are not merely administrative units but an effective medium for translating citizens’ aspirations into reality. The first elected representatives of the newly constituted Bamhanidih Nagar Panchayat carry the responsibility not only of developing the town but also of laying the foundation for a new work culture and strengthening public trust.
He extended his congratulations to the newly elected President Shri Ramesh Kumar Dadsena and all councillors, stating that the responsibility entrusted to them by the people should be reflected in transparent administration, a sensitive working approach and visible development.
He made three major announcements aimed at accelerating the development of Bamhanidih. He announced the construction of a bridge over the Hasdeo River between Dahida and Bamhanidih, the establishment of a Sub-Division Office of the Electricity Department and the construction of a fully equipped Mangal Bhawan. He said that the objective of the state government is not merely to expand infrastructure but to make the lives of citizens more convenient, secure and comfortable.
He stated that the vision of a developed Chhattisgarh cannot be realised through the development of major cities alone, but by empowering emerging urban centres like Bamhanidih. The state government is committed to expanding basic infrastructure, improving civic services and ensuring planned development in all such urban areas.
He expressed confidence that Bamhanidih Nagar Panchayat would emerge as a model of public participation, good governance and development, and would establish a new identity for the region in the coming years.
Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb, Member of Parliament Smt Kamlesh Jangde and MLA Shri Kiran Singh Deo also addressed the gathering. Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Housing Board Shri Anurag Singh Deo, Chairman of the Mineral Development Corporation Shri Saurabh Singh, Shri Narayan Chandel, other public representatives, officials and a large number of people were present.
