Supreme Court to Hold Special Lok Adalat from August 21 to 23

‘Samadhan Samaroh 2026’ to promote amicable settlement of pending cases through mediation and mutual consent

TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 2,2026: The Supreme Court of India will organise a three-day Special Lok Adalat from August 21 to 23, 2026, as part of its nationwide ‘Samadhan Samaroh 2026’ initiative aimed at ensuring speedy and accessible justice through mediation and mutual settlement of disputes.

The initiative, which commenced on April 21, seeks to bring justice closer to citizens by encouraging the resolution of suitable cases pending before the Supreme Court through dialogue, conciliation and consensus.

The Special Lok Adalat will be held at the Supreme Court premises, where eligible pending cases will be taken up for settlement. Prior to the event, preliminary conciliation meetings will be conducted at mediation centres functioning under the State, District and Taluka Legal Services Authorities and Committees, as well as the High Court Legal Services Committees. Litigants may participate in these proceedings either physically or through virtual mode.

According to officials, trained mediators and Secretaries of the District Legal Services Authorities are facilitating the conciliation process to help parties arrive at mutually acceptable settlements before the Special Lok Adalat.

The Supreme Court has appealed to advocates, litigants and all stakeholders to actively participate in the initiative and make use of the opportunity to resolve disputes amicably, thereby reducing prolonged litigation.

To facilitate participation, the Supreme Court has created an online Google Form for parties seeking inclusion of their pending cases in the Special Lok Adalat. The form is available on the Supreme Court’s official website, www.sci.gov.in, enabling eligible litigants to register their cases for consideration.
