CM Shri Vishnu Deo Sai says railway modernisation strengthens Chhattisgarh’s infrastructure and development

TFP Bureau, Raipur, July 17, 2026: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Friday virtually inaugurated the Champa, Balod and Sarona railway stations in Chhattisgarh under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, marking a major step in the state’s railway infrastructure development. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, in a post on X, hailed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw for the initiative.

Shri Sai said the Centre’s continued support has accelerated infrastructure development across Chhattisgarh, benefiting every region and citizen. He said the modernised stations, equipped with upgraded waiting areas, Divyang- friendly facilities, clean premises and improved passenger amenities, will provide safer, smoother and more convenient travel.

Chief Minister said railways are not only a mode of transport but also a key driver of economic and social development. The upgradation of the Champa, Balod and Sarona stations will boost trade, tourism, local economies and regional growth while improving connectivity and generating employment opportunities.

Shri Sai said railway infrastructure is witnessing unprecedented expansion in Chhattisgarh under the double-engine government through new rail projects, doubling, electrification and modern railway facilities, further strengthening the state’s vision of becoming a developed Chhattisgarh.
