CGPSC Reschedules Police Recruitment Main Exam to November 2-4

Dates changed after clash with teacher recruitment examination; CM Vishnu Deo Sai says no youth should lose an opportunity due to overlapping exam schedules

TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 10, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has revised the schedule for the Subedar, Sub-Inspector Cadre and Platoon Commander (Main) Examination-2024 following a clash with the Teacher Recruitment Examination scheduled for October 25.

The main examination, which was earlier proposed to be held on October 24, 25 and 26, will now be conducted on November 2, 3 and 4, 2026. The decision follows Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s direction to address the difficulties faced by candidates preparing for both examinations.

The CGPSC had announced the results of the Preliminary Written Examination for the Subedar, Sub-Inspector Cadre and Platoon Commander Examination-2024, conducted for the Home/Police Department, on August 4. At that time, October 24-26 had been announced as the tentative dates for the main examination.

However, with the Teacher Recruitment Examination scheduled for October 25, candidates appearing for both recruitment processes faced the possibility of having to miss one of the examinations.

Taking note of the issue, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai directed officials to find a solution in the interest of the state’s youth. The CGPSC subsequently issued an amendment notification revising the dates of the police recruitment main examination.

The Chief Minister said the interests and aspirations of young people remain a priority for the state government. He emphasised that candidates who work hard for years to prepare for competitive examinations should not be forced to choose between career opportunities because of overlapping examination schedules.

The revised schedule is expected to provide candidates with an opportunity to appear for both examinations and pursue their respective career goals without facing an avoidable conflict of dates.

The Commission has also informed candidates who have been shortlisted for the main examination that they will have to submit a separate online application for the main examination through the CGPSC website. A separate notification regarding the application process will be issued by the Commission.

Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the official CGPSC website, www.psc.cg.gov.in, for updates regarding the application process, examination schedule and other instructions.

Chief Minister Sai has extended his best wishes to all candidates appearing for the upcoming recruitment examinations and expressed hope that they will make the most of the opportunities available to them.
