CM Vishnu Deo Sai to Hoist Tricolour at Raipur on Independence Day

Assembly Speaker Raman Singh to lead celebrations in Rajnandgaon; ministers, MPs and MLAs assigned district-level responsibilities

TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 14, 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will hoist the national flag and take the salute at the main Independence Day at the Police Parade Ground in Raipur on August 15, as the Chhattisgarh government announced the list of chief guests for state and district-level celebrations across the state.

The Chief Minister will also address the people of Chhattisgarh and outline the state’s development journey, achievements and future priorities.

According to the list issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh will be the chief guest at the Independence Day celebrations in Rajnandgaon, where he will unfurl the Tricolour, take the parade salute and address the gathering.

Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu will lead the celebrations in Bilaspur, while Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao will hoist the flag in Durg and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma will lead the celebrations at the Bastar district headquarters. They will also read out the Chief Minister’s message to the people.

Ministers to lead celebrations across districts

Several state ministers have been assigned to hoist the national flag and take the parade salute at different district headquarters. They include:

  • Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam — Surguja
  • Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel — Mahasamund
  • Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap — Dantewada
  • Industries Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan — Kabirdham
  • Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal — Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur
  • Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary — Raigarh
  • Revenue Minister Tankram Verma — Kanker
  • Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade — Surajpur
  • Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb — Janjgir-Champa
  • Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal — Jashpur
  • School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav — Balod

The ministers will unfurl the Tricolour, take the salute at the parade and read the Chief Minister’s message.

MPs assigned responsibilities in 11 districts

Members of Parliament will lead Independence Day celebrations in several other districts. BJP MP Brijmohan Agrawal will be the chief guest in Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara, Vijay Baghel in Bemetara, Santosh Pandey in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, Bhojraj Nag in Kondagaon, Chintamani Maharaj in Balrampur and Radheshyam Rathia in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh.

Other MPs assigned duties include Rupkumari Chaudhary in Gariaband, Kamlesh Jangde in Sakti, Mahesh Kashyap in Bijapur, Rajya Sabha MP Devendra Pratap Singh in Sukma and Rajya Sabha MP Lakshmi Verma in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki.

MLAs to lead celebrations in six districts

MLAs have also been entrusted with responsibilities at district headquarters. Amar Agrawal will lead the celebrations in Korba, Ajay Chandrakar in Dhamtari, Dharamjit Singh in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Punnulal Mohle in Mungeli, Bhaiya Lal Rajwade in Koriya and Lata Usendi in Narayanpur.

All designated chief guests will hoist the national flag, take the parade salute and convey the Chief Minister’s Independence Day message to the people.
