Inauguration marks a transformative milestone in India’s governance infrastructure
TFP Bureau, New Delhi, 12 Feb 2026: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will unveil the newly constructed building complex Seva Teerth on 13th February at around 1:30 PM, followed by the formal inauguration of Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2. The Prime Minister will also address a public programme at Seva Teerth later in the evening at 6 PM.
The inauguration is being hailed as a significant step in modernizing India’s administrative governance architecture, reflecting the government’s focus on building an efficient, citizen-centric, and technologically advanced administrative ecosystem.
For decades, several key government offices and ministries operated from fragmented and aging infrastructure spread across multiple locations in the Central Vista area, leading to operational inefficiencies, coordination challenges, high maintenance costs, and sub-optimal working environments. The new complexes consolidate these functions under state-of-the-art, future-ready facilities.
Seva Teerth now houses the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat, previously scattered across different locations. Meanwhile, Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2 accommodate critical ministries including Finance, Defence, Health & Family Welfare, Education, Corporate Affairs, Culture, Law & Justice, Information & Broadcasting, Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Chemicals & Fertilizers, and Tribal Affairs.
The complexes feature digitally integrated offices, structured public interface zones, and centralized reception facilities, designed to enhance collaboration, operational efficiency, and citizen engagement. Built in accordance with 4-Star GRIHA standards, they incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and high-performance building envelopes, significantly reducing environmental impact.
Security and safety have been prioritized with smart access control, surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response systems, ensuring a secure and accessible environment for both officials and visitors.
The inauguration of Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan-1 & 2 is being viewed as a transformative milestone that modernizes India’s administrative landscape while strengthening governance efficiency and transparency.
