Adani Foundation’s eye care campaign reaches 2,785 people in 16 villages

27 screening camps identify vision problems in 1,556 villagers; 922 receive spectacles free of cost

TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 24, 2026: An eye-care campaign conducted by Adani Power Limited under the Adani Foundation’s Project Vision Care provided screening and treatment support to 2,785 people across 16 villages in the Raipur region.

The month-long campaign, which began on August 7, concluded last week after 27 eye screening camps were organised in rural areas. The initiative focused on taking basic eye-care services closer to communities, identifying vision problems and facilitating timely treatment and specialist consultation.

Of the 2,785 people screened, 1,760 were men and 1,025 were women. The camps covered Mura, Raikheda, Bhatapara, Gaitra, Khapri, Chicholi, Gaurkheda, Tarashiv, Chhatod, Konari, Sontara, Khamariya, Mohrenga, Bartori, Tulsi and Bahisar.

The screenings found vision-related problems in 1,556 people. Of these, 1,546 were found to require spectacles. The Adani Foundation provided spectacles free of cost to 922 beneficiaries at the camps, while the remaining spectacles are being prepared and delivered to the respective beneficiaries.

The health assessments also detected cataracts in 171 people, while 962 people were found to have other eye-related ailments. A total of 1,133 patients were referred for further treatment and specialist consultation.

The campaign was particularly aimed at improving access to eye-care services for people living in rural areas. Villagers appreciated the initiative, saying that the availability of screening and treatment facilities closer to their homes helped reduce the difficulties involved in accessing healthcare services.

Senior citizens and women were among those who benefited from the camps.

The Adani Foundation said it has been working in the region in areas including education, healthcare, livelihoods and community development. It said efforts to improve access to healthcare services for underserved communities would continue through such initiatives.
