Surveillance Teams Seize Illicit Goods and Cash Worth Rs 66.88 Crore Ahead of Assembly General Elections
TFP Bureau, Raipur, Nov 11, 2023: As the Model Code of Conduct for the Assembly General Elections-2023 remains in force in the state, surveillance teams have successfully confiscated illegal money and items totaling Rs 66.88 crore until November 9. This significant haul includes a cash amount of Rs 18.13 crore.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer reported that enforcement agencies, in their vigilant monitoring, seized 47,846 liters of illicit liquor valued at Rs 1.37 crore. Additionally, other intoxicants with an estimated worth of Rs 4.07 crore were confiscated. A thorough investigative operation led to the seizure of 493 kg of precious jewelry and gems, valuing Rs 20.57 crore. Furthermore, goods amounting to Rs 22.74 crore were also seized during this period.

These guidelines emphasize rigorous monitoring of illegal transportation and storage of money and goods through various enforcement agencies in the state.
