“Double-Engine Government to Accelerate Development”: CM Vishnu Deo Sai

During the meeting, CM Vishnu Deo Sai conveyed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for releasing Rs 2485.79 crore to Chhattisgarh

TFP Bureau  Raipur; Dec 24, 2023: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, emphasized the pivotal role of a “double-engine government” in expediting the state’s development. He affirmed his government’s commitment to completing pending development work during an interaction with President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Ashwini Vaishnaw during a courtesy visit in New Delhi.

Accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, CM Vishnu Deo Sai engaged in substantive discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union ministers. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the synergy between the state and central governments would propel development, overcoming obstacles that had stalled projects for five years.

During the meeting, CM Vishnu Deo Sai conveyed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for releasing Rs 2485.79 crore to Chhattisgarh. The funds, along with permission to procure 15 lakh metric tonnes of parboiled rice for the Central Pool, will be directed towards social welfare and infrastructure development initiatives.

Highlighting the immediate implementation of promises made in ‘Modi’s Guarantee,’ CM Sai detailed the cabinet’s decisions, including providing houses to over 18 lakh families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and procuring paddy from farmers at Rs 3100 per acre. He announced the distribution of a pending two-year paddy bonus of Rs 3716.38 crore to over 13 lakh farmers on December 25, observed as ‘National Good Governance Day’ in honor of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary. Additionally, the supplementary budget allocations for schemes like Mahatari Vandan Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, and Social Security Pension were underscored by the Chief Minister.
