Rajesh Agrawal speaks to CMHO, asks for continuous medical supervision and coordinated action for the infant’s future care
TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 1,2026: Tourism and Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal has directed health and administrative officials to ensure proper medical treatment and safety of a newborn girl found in an open field in the Darima area of Surguja district.
After learning about the incident, Agrawal spoke to the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) over the phone and sought details about the infant’s health and treatment. He directed officials to ensure that there was no lapse in her medical care and that she remained under continuous medical supervision.
The minister also instructed the concerned departments to coordinate on matters related to the infant’s safety and future care. He said that given the child’s vulnerable condition, her health and safety should remain the immediate priority.
Agrawal said the newborn should receive all necessary medical facilities based on her condition, along with a safe and secure environment. He also called for sensitivity in handling the procedures related to her future care and upbringing.
The baby was found near a field in the Darima area and was taken for treatment with the help of local villagers. She is currently under medical supervision, while the administration and concerned departments have been asked to maintain coordination regarding her health and safety.
Agrawal expressed concern over the circumstances in which the newborn was found and wished her a speedy recovery, saying that the child should receive not only medical care but also the protection and secure environment needed for her future.
