On Gandhi Jayanti, Governor stresses making cleanliness a daily practice and calls for citizen participation
TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 2,2026: Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries at Lok Bhavan on Friday.
Deka offered floral tributes to the portraits of the two leaders. Officials and employees of Lok Bhavan also paid their respects on the occasion.
The Governor later participated in a cleanliness drive at the Lok Bhavan premises as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He personally took part in cleaning activities outside the premises, while officials and employees cleaned different areas of the complex, collected waste and arranged for its proper disposal.
Deka said cleanliness should not be treated as a one-day campaign but should become part of everyday life. He emphasised that participation by citizens was essential to maintaining clean surroundings and building a cleaner society.
MLA Purandar Mishra was also present during the programme.
