Mobile Network Reaches Kondapalli for the First Time

TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 05, 2025: In a moment of unprecedented joy and transformation, Kondapalli village in Bijapur district erupted in celebration as mobile network services reached the remote forest settlement for the first time. The development marks a major milestone for the region, which has long struggled without access to basic amenities such as roads, electricity, and telecommunications.

Nestled deep within the forests along the Telangana–Chhattisgarh border, Kondapalli has lived in isolation for decades. The arrival of mobile connectivity — delivered under the state government’s Niyad Nella Naar scheme — has been hailed as a breakthrough that bridges the village with the outside world.

The announcement of the mobile tower’s activation triggered scenes of jubilation across the village. Residents — men, women, and children — marched together in a celebratory rally to the tower site. Traditional rituals were performed to sanctify the installation, while groups danced to the rhythmic beats of the ‘mandar’ drum. The festive atmosphere was further enriched by the participation of security personnel, who shared sweets with villagers and joined in the celebrations. People from neighbouring villages also gathered to witness the historic moment.

Many villagers described the new service as their “first real connection” with the broader world. For the community, the arrival of a mobile signal is not merely a technological upgrade but a transformational step that promises access to essential services. Mobile connectivity will now enable residents to obtain banking assistance, Aadhaar services, ration benefits, health schemes, pension facilities, and access to education — services long beyond their reach.

Under Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Niyad Nella Naar scheme is driving holistic development in sensitive and remote regions across Bastar. The initiative focuses on building trust and ensuring delivery of essential services, including roads, electricity, healthcare, drinking water, communication infrastructure, and administrative outreach.

The scheme covers 403 villages across 69 newly established camps. Across these areas, 18 community-oriented services from nine departments and 25 individual-centric schemes from 11 departments are being delivered to ensure no family is left behind. Communication infrastructure has emerged as the most transformative component of the initiative. Over the past two years, 728 mobile towers have been installed across the region, including 116 under the LWE programme, 115 in aspirational districts, and 467 as new 4G installations. Additionally, 449 towers have been upgraded from 2G to 4G.

Since the establishment of a camp in Kondapalli in December 2024, the village has seen accelerated progress. The Border Roads Organisation is reconstructing a long-defunct road, with work underway on a 50-km stretch. Electricity reached Kondapalli just two months ago, significantly improving children’s studies, small businesses, and daily life. Saturation camps conducted by district authorities are ensuring that every household receives the benefits of government welfare schemes.

With the advent of mobile connectivity, villagers believe a new era of development has begun. The once-isolated hamlet is now stepping into the digital mainstream, bringing renewed optimism and opportunities for future growth.

As Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated:
“Our government is committed to ensuring that every village and every family in Bastar becomes part of the development mainstream, gains access to digital services, and sees new avenues of opportunity open before them. This is not merely the beginning of communication, but the dawn of an era of trust, transformation and new possibilities.”
