Auto-mutation eases property registration for farmer under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan

Technology-driven reforms integrate registration and mutation, saving citizens time and reducing the need for repeated visits to government offices

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 4, 2026: Technology-driven reforms in the property registration system are helping simplify post-registration procedures, with the introduction of auto-mutation eliminating the need for a separate application and repeated visits to revenue offices.

Chandrashekhar Nishad, a farmer from Abhanpur-Sarona in Kanker district, recently experienced the benefit of the system after his property was registered. Following the registration, the mutation process was initiated automatically and his name was recorded in the revenue records.

Sharing his experience with the Registration Department under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, Nishad said the facility saved him considerable time and spared him repeated visits to government offices.

“My mutation was completed immediately. This saved me a lot of time, and I did not have to make repeated trips to the office,” he said.

The reforms have been introduced under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of Finance and Registration Minister O.P. Chaudhary, with the objective of making registration services simpler, more accessible and citizen-centric.

Under the auto-mutation system, the mutation process moves forward automatically after property registration. This reduces the need for citizens to submit a separate application or approach revenue offices for the subsequent procedure.

The Registration Department is also using technology to strengthen identity verification and improve transparency. Aadhaar-based authentication is used to verify the identities of buyers, sellers and witnesses involved in property registration, helping establish the authenticity of the parties.

Other digital facilities, including online appointments, online payments and digital documents, have also been introduced to simplify the registration process. Registration-related payments can be made through digital modes such as net banking and UPI.

The department is engaging directly with beneficiaries through the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to understand their experiences and gather suggestions on the technology-based reforms.

Nishad’s experience illustrates how integration between registration and mutation can simplify the post-registration process. By reducing waiting periods and the need for multiple office visits, the reforms aim to make property-related services more convenient for farmers and other citizens.
