TFP Bureau , Korba; August 7, 2024: Vedanta Aluminium, the leading aluminium producer in India, has announced the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for its 12 mm wire rods produced at its Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO) facility in Korba, Chhattisgarh. These wire rods, known for their excellent conductivity, lightweight nature, and durability, are now officially certified for use in electrical and power transmission applications.
This latest certification marks a significant milestone for Vedanta Aluminium, which was the first in the Indian aluminium industry to achieve BIS certification across its product range. The new certification reinforces the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality and continuous innovation.
In addition to the new certification, BIS has also renewed certification for six other product categories from BALCO: EC Ingots, Alloy Ingots, Primary Ingots, Rolled Sheets, Rolled Conductor Plates, and Rolled Plates for general engineering purposes. With these updates, Vedanta’s BALCO facility now holds a total of seven BIS certifications for 17 products, strengthening its market position.
