Bhanupratappur–Korar and Bhanupratappur–Antagarh services to connect more than 40 villages with schools, hospitals, markets and government offices
TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 25,2026: The Chhattisgarh government has launched bus services on two new routes in Kanker district under the Chief Minister’s Rural Bus Scheme, aiming to improve public transport connectivity in remote and forested areas.
Transport Minister Kedar Kashyap flagged off buses on the Bhanupratappur–Korar and Bhanupratappur–Antagarh routes. The services are expected to benefit residents of more than 40 villages by providing regular transport for education, healthcare, shopping at local weekly markets and visits to government offices.
Kashyap said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, was working to extend essential services to remote rural communities. He said the rural bus scheme was bringing villages without regular public transport into the wider transport network.
Improved connectivity would make it easier for residents to reach block headquarters, hospitals, schools and markets, he said, adding that rural transport was not merely a means of travel but also a way to connect people with development opportunities.
Kanker MLA Asharam Netam said efforts were being made to ensure that government schemes and public services reached people in the most remote areas. He described the expansion of bus services as an important step towards improving accessibility for rural residents.
Zila Panchayat president Kiran Nareti, Municipal Council president Arun Kaushik, other public representatives, government officials and local residents attended the flag-off programme.
