Transfer order covers 53 Chief Municipal Officers and 24 engineers; three suspended CMOs reinstated and posted to urban local bodies pending departmental inquiries
TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 31, 2026: The Chhattisgarh Urban Administration and Development Department has transferred 100 officers and employees across the state, including 53 Chief Municipal Officers (CMOs) and 24 engineers.
According to the transfer order, the reshuffle also covers five accountants, four health inspectors, four peons, three cashiers and three Assistant Grade-3 employees. One stenographer, one assistant revenue inspector, one computer operator and one vehicle driver have also been included.
In a separate decision, the department has reinstated three Chief Municipal Officers—Vikas Patle, Vishnu Prasad Yadav and Zafar Khan—following their suspension. They have been posted as CMOs of Dalli Rajhara Municipality, Wadrafnagar Nagar Panchayat and Bilaigarh Nagar Panchayat, respectively.
The government order clarifies that departmental inquiries against the three officers will continue despite their reinstatement. A separate decision on the treatment of their suspension periods will be taken based on the merits and outcome of the ongoing departmental proceedings.
